Summary
Michel Chikwanine was someone was taken from his village with some friends, forced to kill his best friend, and forced to become a child soldier in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He later escaped during a village raid, and he and his mother fled to Ottawa, Canada. He later created a graphic novel of what had happened to him during that time, and of all the horrors that he faced. He created it to continue his father's human rights activism legacy and engage children and help them learn about what occurs around the world, and to not shield them because parents think they don't understand or don't see what goes on around the world.

Michel was caught up inside of a civil war, and was forced to do horrendous things. He then escaped and migrated to Canada to escape the conflict, and to tell his others of what had happened there.
